* Dates may vary for certain programs (Education, Common Law, Engineering, Medicine, MBA, etc.). Please check with the academic unit conc erned. Refer to the CO-OP website for work-term deadlines.
** Tuition fees minus the non-refundable administrative fees. Dates for receiving a 100% financial credit may vary according to the course start and end dates. For more information, see Payment of University Fees.
*** You will be unable to withdraw from a course after this deadline. If you do not officially withdraw by the deadline but simply stop attending a course, the mark on your transcript will appear as a failure.
**** If you're writing a supplemental exam outside the University of Ottawa, you must pay fees charged by the external institution (Summer session only).
***** The 100% financial credit applies only if you are registered exclusively for the thesis and if you were registered for the thesis in the previous session as well. The credit does not apply when you submit a revised thesis.
****** The 50% financial credit, less administrative charges, applies only if you are registered exclusively for the thesis and if you were registered in the previous session as well. The credit does not apply when you submit a revised thesis.
******* University fees for undergraduate students registered in both the Fall and Winter sessions are due on the payment deadline indicated for the Fall. If you defer your payment or registration for the Winter session to after September 30, a “service fee for payment after Sept 30” is applied to your student account.
1 Access to courses as a special student is very limited. See the special student website for more information.
2 Students in the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section must register for both the intensive January term and for the Winter term. This affects some sessional dates for these students. The January term runs from January 6 to January 27, 2014, followed by a study break from January 27-31, 2014, and the Winter term runs from February 3 to April 4, 2014. Common Law Section students should check the Important Dates calendar.
3 Exam period - It may be necessary to hold evening exams for day courses and vice-versa. Exams may also take place on weekends, either during the day or in the evening.
4 Authorization to take supplemental exams in Droit civil and Common Law and the dates of these supplemental exams are the responsibility of the Faculty of Law.
5 During reading weeks, courses offered by the faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Engineering, Health Sciences, Law (Droit civil Section only), and the Telfer School of Management are cancelled. In Education, the Teacher Education program offered in English will have no reading week. The Formation à l'enseignement program will have a reading week in the winter session only. However, exceptions may apply in certain disciplines at both the undergraduate and graduate level. CO-OP work terms and other clinical or non-clinical placements still take place.
6 On Saturday, June 8, 2013, you must follow your Monday course schedule. This adjustment applies to all courses, without exception, scheduled during the May 1 to June 11, 2013 session. However, CO-OP work terms and other clinical or non-clinical placements are not affected. If you have any questions, please contact staff at your academic unit.
On Saturday, July 13, 2013, you must follow your Monday course schedule. This adjustment applies to all courses, without exception, scheduled during the the May 1 to July 23, 2013 session. On Saturday, July 20, 2013, you must follow your Monday course schedule. This adjustment applies to all courses, without exception, scheduled during the June 17 to July 26, 2013 session. On Saturday, August 10, 2013, you must follow your Monday course schedule. This adjustment applies to all courses, without exception, scheduled during the July 2 to August 12, 2013 session. However, CO-OP work terms and other clinical or non-clinical placements are not affected. If you have any questions, please contact staff at your academic unit.
On Tuesday, August 13, 2013, you must follow your Monday course schedule. Courses normally held on Tuesday, August 13, will not be held. This adjustment applies to all courses, without exception, scheduled during the July 23 to August 13, 2013 session. 8 Clinical placements offered on all campuses and regular courses offered in Pembroke, St-Boniface and Woodroffe still take place.
9 In the Undergraduate Medical education program, Fall preclerkship courses run from September 3 to December 13, 2013. Winter preclerkship courses run from January 6 to May 30, 2014. Fall third year clerkship courses run from August 12 to December 20, 2013. Winter third year clerkship courses run from January 6 to August 29, 2014. Fall fourth year clerkship courses run from September 9 to December 20, 2013. Winter fourth year clerkship courses run from January 6 to April 11, 2014.
10 For grades received on final exams or in cases when grade reviews take place only at the end of the session, the request for a grade review must be submitted within ten (10) working days after the grade in question becomes official.
