Unable to receive your funds because of an outstanding account balance at the University

The University of Ottawa reserves the right to refuse registration if you have an outstanding account balance. In order for the University of Ottawa to dispense student loan funds, the student’s course registration must match the course load indicated in the financial aid application.

Reminder (taken from the OSAP Applicant’s Declaration)

By signing and submitting your OSAP financial aid application, you made the following declaration: “I must have the assistance to continue my postsecondary studies, and I will use this assistance to pay my academic fees first and then to cover educational and living costs related to my studies.”

What steps should you take if you are unable to register due to an outstanding balance?

  1. Pay your outstanding balance with the University of Ottawa.
  2. Register in your courses.
  3. Pick up your funds.
  4. If you are unable to pay the outstanding balance of your account, please get in touch with Financial Services.
